We ask you to BLESS the reconstruction of the monastery complex of St. George in Mariupol (ancient Kremnes) Ukraine.

This becomes possible after the Unification Council on December 15, 2018 on the establishment of the Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

For the reconstruction of the monastery complex of St. George, one of the most ancient in Eastern Europe, the Metropolitan of Gothia and Kafa, St. Ignatius fought at the end of the 18th century. He considered the revival of the activities of the monastery of St. George so important for Ukraine and all European civilization that in the most intense period of his ministry during the oppressions from the leadership of the Moscow Patriarchate in the last years of his life, he considered it necessary to start his restoration by building a five-wall house, where and began to pray sincerely. By the way, in the XIX century, the Greeks of PriAzov-Land considered Holy Ignatius  not only the founder of the city of Mariupol and 24 neighboring villages, but also treated Him as the Second Moses. After all, he really brought them out of the Crimea and saved him from a possible genocide, having provided with his wise policy the resettlement of the trade people (the carrier of urban professions) to the coast of the Azov’s Sea, having achieved autonomy for the Greeks (from 1786 to 1859 ; Mariupol developed as an independent Greek polis).

The role of Saint Ignatius for the Greek people and the whole of Eastern Europe, as well as its initiatives and the interaction of the Greek diaspora with the Cossacks, are reflected in the works of researchers of the Institute for Economic, Socio-Cultural Research:

Therefore, our petition has a scientific justification, especially since we continue the work that was actively carried out by one of the organizers of our Civic International Committee, Academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine, a member of the International Biographical Center in Cambridge and a member of the Advisory Department of the American Biographical Institute, Dr. of Commerce, cand., econ. scies. Valery Aleksandrovich Vasiljev, who in 2005 made a positive decision on this issue from the State Committee of Ukraine on Religious Affairs (see annex).
